Brock High School Honor Students Recognized at Academic Banquet
Brock High School recognized students for outstanding achievement in academics and attendance at its annual Academic Banquet last night. Students were recognized for earning placement on the AB honor roll and the A honor roll. Additionally, the top ten percent of the senior class was recognized as well those earning perfect attendance from all grade levels. The top ten percent are pictured above. Calculator Applications Team Wins 3rd at State Meet
The Brock High School Calculator Applications team won 3rd place at the UIL Academic Meet in Austin last week. Team members pictured above are: Kristin Tighe, Sarah Bussell, Luke Hamilton(7th place individual), and Mary Mann. Also pictured is Clayton Groves who competed in Number Sense.
Brock’s Landry Felts Featured in Sports Illustrated
Brock student athlete Landry Felts was featured in the May 7th, 2018, issue of Sports Illustrated's Faces in the Crowd for her 2 grand slams in one inning performance against Cisco on March 20th. Congratulations Landry!
Baseline Testing Information
We are trying to get every athlete in the district to have a baseline test so that we may better care for our athletes and provide quality care should they sustain a concussion.
If you have a JUNIOR HIGH athlete who was unable to attend the baseline testing, please sign up via this link for a time slot in June.
If you have a HIGH SCHOOL athlete who has NOT had a concussion baseline test, please also sign them up for a time slot in June.

Boys and Girls Track Teams Compete in Region I Meet – Sends Three Athletes to the State Meet
Congratulations to both our boys and girls track teams for competing in the Regional Track Meet this weekend. The boys team placed 2nd overall in Region I.
Qualifying for state are the following:
Tommy Merrill- 800
Baylor Cupp- Shot
Colby Trout- 300 m hurdles and 110 m hurdles.
These athletes will compete at the state track meet at the University of Texas on Friday, May 11th.
Brock Girl’s Golf Team Qualifies for the State Tournament
The Brock Lady Eagles Golf team qualified for the State Tournament after edging out Jim Ned by one stroke to finish 3rd at the 3A Region I Tournament. The state tournament will be held on May 21st and 22nd, at Grey Rock in Austin, TX. Team and individuals results are below:

Brock Boy’s Golf Team Qualifies for the State Tournament
Congratulations to the Brock Eagles Boy,s Golf team for placing 3rd overall at the 3A Region I Golf Tournament, which qualifies them for the Class 3A State Tournament. The state tournament will be held May 14th and 15th, at Grey Rock in Austin, TX. Garrett Leek placed 2nd overall with a 2 over par 142. Team and individual results are below:

Brock Tennis to Send 4 Players to the State Tournament
The Brock Tennis Team participated in the Region I tennis tournament Thursday and Friday, where they qualified four players for the State Tournament to be held in College Station, May 17th-18th. In girl’s doubles, Macie Dehnisch and Kylee Laverty entered the tournament as an unseeded team. In the first round they defeated Muleshoe 6-1, 6-1. In the quarterfinals the pair dropped the first set 6-2 to the top seeded team from Canadian before coming back to win the next two sets 6-2, 6-2, to advance to the semifinals. In their semifinal match Brock defeated the 4 seed from Early 6-2, 3-6, 6-4, despite being down 1-4 in the final set. In the finals the team lost to the 2 seed from Reagan County 6-3, 6-2 to claim the silver medal.
The boy’s doubles team of Rayce Mitchell and Zach Kursteiner entered the tournament as the 2nd seeded team. They easily posted wins over Jim Ned, 6-1, 6-1 and Crane’s #2 team 6-1, 6-1, before losing to Wall’s number 2 team in split sets, 6-2, 6-7(5), 5-7, in the semifinals. In the 3rd place match they defeated Crane’s #1 team 6-2, 6-1. The finals pitted both Wall teams in a match to determine the regional champion and a possible playback for Brock. Wall’s #2 team defeated Wall’s #1 team(also seeded #1) to grant Brock a playback with the top seeded team from Wall. Mitchell and Kursteiner won the playback match in straight sets 6-2, 6-4, to earn the silver medal.

Brock High School Wins UIL Academic District Meet
The Brock High School UIL Academic Team won the District 7-3A Championship on Wednesday, with a total score of 617.5, followed by Cisco - 324, Tolar - 253.5, Millsap - 161, Eastland - 123, Breckenridge - 109, and Peaster - 50. The win advances Brock to the Region I Meet in Abilene on April 13th and 14th. Brock qualified just under 50 students for the regional meet. For individual results click the link below.
Brock High School Art Students Earn Entry Into the Parker County Student Art Show
Brock High School Art students Brooklyn Booth and Tessa Cisco placed in divisions and have been chosen, along with sixteen other Brock students, to exhibit their art in the Parker County Student Art Show beginning March 13th, and running through April 5th, at the Doss Heritage and Cultural Center at 1400 Texas St. The show is comprised of art students from 8 local school districts and home school, 12 contributing teachers and schools, and over 240 art students from grades 6-12. Participating schools are Aledo HS, Aledo Daniels Ninth Grade Center, WHS, Weatherford Ninth Grade Center, Tison MS, Hall MS, Poolville HS, Brock HS, Peaster MS, Springtown MS, Millsap HS and MS, Trinity Christian Academy and one area home schooled student. The show is free to the public and available for viewing during regular Doss hours of operation. A special feature of the show is the voting done by the public on their favorite piece or pieces of art for $1 per vote. All monies will be awarded to the students at the reception and awards ceremony Thursday April 5 at 6 pm.
Brock High School Band Earns The School’s First Sweepstakes Award
On March 8th, the Varsity Concert Band earned all superior ratings in both concert and sight-reading (a first for the Brock Band). In addition, the band earned their first sweepstakes award which works in conjunction with last semester's marching band results (also for the first time in school history). This year, the students of the Brock Band have broken a total of 5 school records!
Brock Tennis Qualifies for TTCA State Team Tennis Tournament
The 2018 Brock Tennis Team has qualified for the School’s 10th 3A and Under TTCA State Team Tennis tournament. The tournament will be held in the Round Rock area March 9th and 10th.
Brock Junior High UIL Academic Team Wins District Championship
Brock Jr. High participated in the UIL competition at Tolar on Tuesday and brought home a District Championship. The 6th – 8th grade teams scored an amazing 1107 points winning each grade level. Sixth grade scored 366 points, 7th grade scored 374 and 8th grade scored 367. Congratulations to all participating students, teachers/coaches and administration on this outstanding achievement! Brock Elementary – District Champs – UIL Academics
Brock Elementary competed in the District UIL Academic contest December 5th. The Elementary team won 1st place overall with a combined score of 484.90 points to claim the District title over teams from Eastland, Peaster, Cisco, Tolar and Breckenridge. Brock Cross Country Runners Complete Outstanding Year
The Brock Cross Country season culminated with an appearance at the State Meet in Round Rock by Kylee Laverty for the girls and Luke Hamilton for the boys. Both boys and girls teams were District 7-3A Champs and both teams competed well at the Region I meet in Lubbock. Congratulations to both teams on an outstanding season.
Brock Marching Band Competes In The Area Competition
This has been a year of firsts for the Brock High School Marching Band. For the first time in school history the Brock Band advanced to the area level. While at the area level, the Band advanced to the finals and placed only 5 spots away from advancing to the state level. Previously the Brock High School Band competed in the Region 30 UIL marching competition and was unanimously voted by the judges to advance to the Area round. The band received all 1's. Brock was one of only two bands to be selected to advance out of the entire region. Congratulations to all Band Members and Coaches!
