Brock’s Jimmie Morales Earns Teaching Award for Excellence
Brock’s Jimmie Morales was recently named the 2018 recepient of the Jack Harvey Fellowship Award for Exemplary teachers. The award is presented annually by Weatherford College during a luncheon at the Doss Heritage and Culture Center. The award was established in 1996 to recognize commendable teachers in the college’s service area.
When asked why Jimmie Morales is an exemplary teacher, her principal said, “It’s because of the dedication she has to the content area she teaches and students that cross her path every day. Jimmie is a relationships-based educator who believes each child can learn at his/her own pace.” When asked why she became an educator, she said, “I love to see the ‘light bulb’ moments. There are no words to describe the feeling of making a difference in kids. It may only be one, but it is always worth it.” Mrs. Morales ignites fire every day in the kids she teaches. Brock is grateful you became an educator, Mrs. (Coach) Morales. Mrs. Morales teaches 8th grade science and coaches volleyball and track.
