Brock ISD Hires First Two Junior High Football Coaches

Retired Coaches Percy Whitmire and Terry Brewster will be working this fall with the Brock Junior High football program. The two coaches have been employed by the Lake Worth ISD and coached together there for 15 years. Coach Whitmire is currently the athletic director and head football coach at Lake Worth and will be retiring at the end of this school year. He is a resident of the Brock community. Coach Brewster was the defensive coordinator at Lake Worth for much of the 15 years he coached there and is already retired. He moved to Millsap when he started at Lake Worth and has lived there ever since.

We are very excited to have such quality coaches and role models helping start the junior high program for Brock ISD. They will be hired as part time employees with standard junior high stipends. Administration is in the process of hiring a teacher/coach position to replace Coach Joy's 8th grade science position since he has become the district's librarian and will serve in that capacity in the 2011-2012 school year. News concerning the progress made in the hiring of this position will be posted as soon as a candidate is approved by the board. Any cost associated with the football coaching positions is coming from donated monies in the football account and not from general operating funds.
