Business Discussion Items:

Superintendent Richard Tedder updated the board on the process of collecting bids on the overlay of the roof at the elementary.   Litigation continues on the roof with an Appeals Court date set for November 28, 2007 in Dallas.   Bids have been received from Dura Last Roofing Manufacturer, and bids have been advertised for Sarnafil Roofing in order to stop the leaks in the roof.   So far, prices have ranged from $337,000 to $404,000 approximately.   More bids have been advertised for the Sarnafil roofing system and should be in before the next school board meeting in November.

The superintendent reported that the Basham Property has had core tests and surface sample tests performed by Terracon and those tests so far have come back nondetect for contaminants.   Closing on the property should be within two weeks.

Mr. Tedder and Dee Ann Mills gave the required Highly Qualified Teacher Status Report and it was discussed that Robert Klick and Brian Merrick were waiting on their Social Studies Excet test results and the teacher of record of their classes was Chad Massey.   Test results should be back within the week.
