Dear Parents and Students,

Welcome to “Exemplary” Brock Middle School.   We would like to recognize and thank all the hard work done by each student, staff member and parent of Brock Middle School in achieving the T.E.A. Exemplary rating for the 2006-2007 school year.  What a great accomplishment this is!!!  Congratulations!!!

The faculty and staff join me in saying that we are tremendously excited about the upcoming school year.  We have many wonderful activities and educational experiences planned for each and every student of Brock Middle School.  We also welcome any and all parent involvement since this is a vital part of our student’s education.   It is our belief that open communication with our faculty and parents only helps in the educational process, so please feel free to contact any of our teachers and or administrators so that we can truly become partners in education.

With everyone’s assistance I am confident that we will have yet another wonderful school year in which all of our students will succeed in great ways.

Sincerely,

Chad Massey

Principal

Riding the School Bus

The office must have a note from a parent or guardian before a student can ride a different bus, be let off at a different location, or be released to anyone not on the student registration form.  A new school bus discipline policy has been adopted by the school board.  You may find this policy in the Student Handbook.  Please read over this policy with your child and discuss proper school bus behavior.  This effort will help Brock ISD with most bus safety concerns.

Report Cards

Report cards will be sent home at the end of each six weeks.  Our teachers will also be

sending out Progress Reports throughout the school year to help inform you on  your    child’s academics.

Traffic / Student Pick up and Drop Off Procedures

Cars with both Middle School and Elementary Students will continue to use the road entrance located on the east of the High School.  Please follow the road around and stay in the left lane when the road divides into two lanes.  Please pull up to the front of the building to drop students off and pull up to the pavilion area for picking up students.  Please do not pass other cars in this area as it creates a dangerous situation for our students.  Cars with only Middle School Students will continue to drop off / pick up on the west side of the school.  Please use the road entrance located on the east of the High School.  Please follow the road around and stay in the right lane when the road divides into two lanes.  Cars will need to then take the road that travels between the tennis courts and the Elementary / Middle School.

Please do not attempt to drop off or pick students up from Grindstone Road.  This will interfere with the busses loading and unloading student.

There is no parking or drop off areas for students in the gravel lot in front of the tennis courts before school or after school.

For the protection and safety of our students, Brock ISD will not release any student to be picked up in any area other than the designated student pick up / drop off zones.

New Traffic Signs

You will notice that our “one Way Only” sign has changed to “One Way Only during the Hours of 7:15 a.m. to 8:15 a.m. and 3:15 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.”.  You may enter and exit the front drive anytime during the school day except during the hours listed above.  For the safety of our students, we have also closed the road beside the tennis courts during the school day.  This road is to remain closed during the hours of 8:15 a.m.–3:15 p.m.
